Growth is an important indicator of the health and nutritional status of a child. Since the first 6 years are critical growth years for a child, it is important to measure & monitor child’s growth. Growth monitoring can detect nutritional & other health problems that would otherwise go unnoticed even if your child is not sick. Monitoring the growth of a child requires taking relevant measurements at regular
intervals and seeing how they progress.
Physical growth refers to the increases in height and weight and other body changes that happen as kids mature. Beginning in infancy, kids will visit a doctor for regular checkups. During these, the doctor will record height and weight as they compare with that of other kids the same age on a growth chart. This valuable tool can help the doctor determine whether a child is growing at an appropriate rate or whether there might be problems.
To address this concern, Sharda Children Hospital has opened a Child Development Clinic that’s open to all children from 1 to 6 years of age.
